Tonia Britton
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1991 from Baylor University. I am all-level Special Education and Early Childhood certified. Baylor is where my husband of 31 years and I met. I taught at Hewitt Elementary in Midway ISD for two years while my husband opened a restaurant in Waco. I also taught three years of Early Childhood and Special Education classes at Heritage Elementary in GCISD. I have lived in the Colleyville area for 29+ years. I have four boys. Three of my sons are CCA alumni, Class of 2017, 2019, and 2022.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A graceful ballerina and a beautifully voiced singer; also a lawyer...but I'm glad I didn't go down that path...they must bore each other to death!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I wanted truth and life spoken into and over my children, and now I enjoy doing that for the students I teach.
What is one fun fact about you? I did my student teaching in London, I've met a lot of famous celebrities and athletes, and I used to coach basketball.
What is your favorite book of all time? Twelve Mighty Orphans by Jim Dent - I love writing with bits of historical basis, and I love seeing it come to life! Plus I just love the grit.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Winning the lottery, a big hug, kind words spoken, and a DR. PEPPER anytime!
What do you like to do for fun? Anything with my boys! I also love concerts and country music!!
