ALL applicants for the following positions must:

MATH TEACHER – RHETORIC SCHOOL. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of math instruction experience at the high school level. Must be passionate about their faith, the discipline of mathematics, and the students they teach. Candidates should be eager to work as part of our departmental team to strengthen our college preparatory program. Experience teaching in a Christian classical school is desirable but all candidates who embrace our mission and vision are welcome to apply.

ART TEACHER – Grades 5-12. Teach general art classes primarily for 5th-8th grade students, 9th Grade, and one upper level Art class for Rhetoric School (2D-Drawing/Painting or 3D-Sculpture/Ceramics). Collaborate with Fine Arts team and other Art teachers on special projects. Prepare students for competition and display several times per year. Must have a Bachelor of Art or Art Education degree, classroom teaching experience (state teaching certificate preferred), and excellent communication skills.

WORSHIP ENSEMBLE TEACHER (part time – approx. 10 hours/week). Teach workshop ensemble classes for 7th/8th grades and 9th-12th grades. Prepare ensembles to lead music for Logic and Rhetoric school chapel services. Will occasionally lead music solo for chapel services. Must have a thorough knowledge of contemporary and traditional worship styles/repertoire and a thorough knowledge of sound equipment and engineering. A Bachelor of Music, Music Education or Church Music degree is preferred.

MAINTENANCE WORKER. (Full time) Perform general maintenance, repair, and remodel tasks including basic fixes to equipment and building systems.  Requirements include a basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. 

ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER. Teach general music classes for grades 1-6 and conduct an upper elementary select choir. Create, produce, and prepare students for grade level performances. Lead music for chapel once a week. Must have a Bachelor of Music/Music Education degree, classroom teaching experience (state teaching certificate preferred), and excellent communication skills.

GIRLS BASKETBALL - STIPEND COACH. Coach the Junior Varsity team and assist the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. The applicant must have an authentic relationship with Jesus, a desire to work and invest in high school students, and have a passion for basketball.

PRIVATE GUITAR INSTRUCTOR (Part-time). Teach private lessons after school hours beginning September 2018. Prepare students for one-two recitals per year. Compensation is paid by the lesson at a rate of $21.50 per 30- minute lesson.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. Must have a high school degree, college is preferred. Must be 21 years or older and passionate in their Christian faith. Substitute teachers are responsible for all fingerprinting costs.

Costume Designer. Stipend position for three productions a year (RS Play, 8th grade Play, Spring Musical).  Qualified candidates will have theatrical design experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of the production team.  Sewing knowledge is helpful.  Design work could begin this summer.  Please send resumes to Jessica Owens at jessica.owens@covenantchristian.net
