Steven Smith
I have lived most of my life in Keller but attended Mississippi State to get my Bachelor's in Physical Education. I taught math and coached in Mississippi for two years before moving back to Texas. I have taught for twenty-two years, primarily teaching high school math in the Keller and Northwest ISDs. In 2018, I earned my Master's Degree in Christian Apologetics at Talbot Theological Seminary (Biola University). I have four children: Abby (20), Bella (19), Lilly (17) and Jack (15). I am excited about the opportunity to teach at CCA. I can already tell that this is a special place.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a baseball or football player
Why do you choose to work at CCA? The primary reason that I choose to work at CCA is that I want the opportunity to share my faith with students. It is inspiring to work at CCA because of its strong commitment to Christian faith/practice and academic excellence.
What is one fun fact about you? I was once bitten on the nose by a turtle ... yes it hurts
What is your favorite book of all time? Besides the Bible, my favorite spiritual book is Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Martyn Lloyd Jones. This book shows the believer how the Christian life is meant to be lived. My favorite fiction book is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. It's just a great story.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? a good conversation with a friend
What do you like to do for fun? I like to read, watch college football and spend time with my kids.
