Shawn McGinnis
I grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and moved to Texas to attend UNT (back then, it was NTSU) for music. I received degrees in Music Education and Music Theory and was the Drum Major of the UNT Green Brigade (marching band) for several years. I taught as a band director in the Arlington ISD for five years before moving into IT and, eventually, the testing office. I am a trained healing-prayer facilitator and also maintain a home-based video production business recording public school music events, including theater productions and band, choir, and orchestra concerts. I have a wife, Teresita, and a daughter, Elena, who attends CCA. I geek out about 3D printers, camera gear, and nice headphones.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A music teacher
Why do you choose to work at CCA? My daughter and her peer group
What is one fun fact about you? I can make balloon animals (good ones, not the junky dogs you see everywhere).
What is your favorite book of all time? The Bible - it's the only one I've read more than once
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? a booth at Chick-Fil-A with Iced Tea
