Sam Cruz
I got my bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Valle Continental in Monterrey, Mexico, but I started teaching when I was 18 years old. I began teaching first grade, which made me love it. After that, I took courses in didactic and teaching methods. I taught many different subjects, but one I really enjoyed teaching was algebra! My parents are church planters, and we resided in Mexico for 20+ years. Three years ago, we decided to move back to the US. We have a six-year-old daughter and are expecting twins around Christmas time.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A soccer player
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love teaching and serving God.
What is one fun fact about you? I can play the drums.
What is your favorite book of all time? Every Young Man’s Battle by Stephen Arterburn and Shannon Etheridge - It helped me teach young men how to overcome the constant battle the enemy brings to them as they grow to become men.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Coming home to my family and getting a hug from them.
What do you like to do for fun? Bowling
