Isaac Magana

5th and 6th Grade Latin Teacher

I am originally from Los Angeles, CA, but my wife and I moved to TX in the summer of 2021 after we graduated and got married. My wife's name is Abby, and she is a nurse at a hospital in Arlington. I attended a small Christian university known as The Master's University in CA and majored in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Christian education. I am currently in graduate school for my Master's of Education through the University of North Texas. Teaching has always been a passion of mine for three reasons: 1) I get to see kids grow intellectually, 2) I get to pour into the upcoming generation and, Lord willing, be a Godly influence, and 3) I get to display the love of Christ that has been so graciously lavished upon me. I am still learning a lot about what it means to do these things well, but I'm thankful for the grace, love, and support I get from all here at CCA.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a kid, I wanted to be a photographer/graphic designer.

Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA for two reasons: 1) it is an opportunity to love and lead students in a high education, and 2) I get an opportunity to do life and display the love and compassion Christ showed me through His dying death.

What is one fun fact about you? My family sport growing up was boxing. All my older brothers competed, and I did too. I started when I was a kid and competed until my freshman year of college.

What is your favorite book of all time?  Radical by David Platt - It gave me perspective on what it meant to follow Christ.

What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Food. I love food.

What do you like to do for fun? Disc golf, exercise, read, eat, work with my hands, watch boxing, anything and everything outdoors
