Denise Perona
I attended the University of North Texas, receiving my B.S. Degree in Merchandising with a Business Minor. I worked in software asset management for an IT company managing a 10 million dollar annual software budget for ten years. My husband and I decided it was in the best interest of our family for me to stay home with our three young children as the 55+ hour weeks I worked were hard on us all. During that time, I started teaching Pre-K3 part-time for the next ten years and loved it! I knew I had found my calling in teaching children and perused my teaching certification in EC-6th grade. My children are all now young adults doing great things in their professions, and I am doing what I love, teaching our littlest cougars at CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A child psychologist
Why do you choose to work at CCA? Because it is an awesome Christian school where I can teach from a Biblical perspective. The seeds planted in my students' hearts have an eternal impact on who they become and truly bless me.
What is one fun fact about you? I love socks! If I was stranded on a deserted island, the one thing I would need is my socks!
What is your favorite book of all time? The Bible is my favorite book. I read it daily, transforming my mind one day at a time to be more like Jesus.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Walking in the morning right before the sun comes up in the dark, and as the sun rises, the light begins to surround me slowly until daylight. It is amazing!
What do you like to do for fun? I love to exercise; I love biking, walking, yoga, and pickleball; as long as I am moving, I am having fun.
