I attended Florida State University to earn a hotel/restaurant management business degree. In the course of that, I was hired by Hyatt Hotels. I worked in management at the Austin Hyatt and Memphis Hyatt for three years. I then returned to college to get a degree in Elementary Education. I attended Univ. of Houston and completed my degree in 1988 at Texas State University. Before teaching first grade at CCA in 2005, I taught first grade in FWISD and BISD. While teaching at FWISD, I attended UTA for my ESL certification. In 2015, I became the Administrator Assistant in Middle School. Beginning this school year, I am the High School CASP teacher. My kids are CCA alumni. Avery, Class of 2011, and Samuel, Class of 2016.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to run a hotel or bed and breakfast.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA because I believe in the mission of CCA. The added bonus is the wonderful people/friends who also work here. AND the families that, over the years, have become part of my family!
What is one fun fact about you? I LOVE college football.
What is your favorite book of all time? The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins - It is one of my favorite books because it is mysterious and has so many twists and turns. I love the way the characters are described; they are so rich.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Chocolate cake!! Anytime I can have a meal with my sweet friends!
What do you like to do for fun? I love to read, ride my bike, and kayak with my husband.
