Claire Long
I grew up in Newport Beach, California, but the Lord brought me to Texas when He placed Baylor University on my heart. There I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and student taught in Waco ISD. In 2019 I graduated and decided Texas was my home. I moved to Grapevine after being hired by CCA. In 2020 I married my husband, a fellow Baylor Bear, and started my 2nd teaching year at CCA. I have taught Pre-K4, 2nd grade, and now 4th-grade math at Covenant. I am in my 4th year of teaching and could not imagine a more wonderful place to teach than CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian, be on Broadway, or be a teacher!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? From the moment I walked through CCA's doors, I felt at peace. I love classical education, and I always knew that I wanted to teach at a school where I could help my students grow in their faith as well as help them become lifelong learners.
What is one fun fact about you? I can play piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, and sing! I applied to colleges as a musical theater major originally.
What is your favorite book of all time? Little Women is my favorite book because it was the book my mother, grandmother, and I would read each winter. It made me fall in love with reading, and it gave me a special memory with the two most influential women in my life.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Quiet time with the Lord, snuggles with my dogs, and a good cup of coffee.
What do you like to do for fun? I love reading, traveling, walking my dogs, and discovering new adventures with my husband.
