Catherine Arnold
I have such a precious heritage here at Covenant! I am the eldest daughter of CCA founders Dale and Anne Smith. I attended and graduated from CCA in 1992 as a member of the first graduating class. My three siblings and three sons also graduated from CCA. I have two nieces and one nephew currently attending; our family is blessed and proud to be multi-generational Cougars. I have been married to my husband Ben (an engineer at Lockheed Martin) for nearly 27 years. I received my BA from the College of Saint Thomas More (humanities) in 1998 and a Master's Degree in Library Science (with school library certification) from the University of North Texas in 2009. This is my 9th year as librarian here at CCA, and it is truly my dream job! I love instilling in my students a love for books and reading and helping equip them with the information-seeking and processing skills required to be successful and discerning readers and learners.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a ballerina!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I am blessed and privileged to partner with believing parents in their children's Christ-centered education and Christian nurture.
What is one fun fact about you? I am something of an Anglophile and adore all things British! Come talk with me in British accents! ;)
What is your favorite book of all time? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I received a volume of Jane Austen novels as a high school graduation gift from our beloved Dr. C (then Mr. Culberson!). I read Austen's novels for the first time as a college freshman and have loved them (and all the film adaptations!) ever since.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? A word of encouragement from a fellow teacher, parent, or student!
What do you like to do for fun? READ!! :)
