Becca Risley
I received my degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University. We moved to the DFW area in 1996, where I earned my master's degree in Mathematics from the University of North Texas. Before my children were born, I taught at North Lake College and the University of North Texas. We enrolled our daughter, Katie, at CCA in 2010, and our son, Nate, in 2016. I began to teach here in 2017. It has been a joy to see the fruit of classical education in the lives of both of our children. CCA is home!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA because I am passionate about the quality of education offered here. I love working with amazing people who excel at their jobs and pour love into my kids.
What is one fun fact about you? When I graduated with my math degree, I was one class short of having a double major in Spanish as well.
What is your favorite book of all time? My favorite books of all time are the Harry Potter books. I love the themes of self-sacrifice and love that weave throughout the books. And the magic is a lot of fun!
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Eating ice cream
What do you like to do for fun? My favorite thing is to read. It is the most relaxing to me.
