Tuition Assistance

Making a Covenant Education Possible

Tuition Assistance

Choosing a Christ-centered education is a meaningful investment. We know it can feel out of reach for many families. Tuition Assistance at Covenant Christian Academy bridges that gap, equipping a diverse community of students for kingdom purpose in college and beyond.

We believe what happens here matters. We see the fruit in our graduates’ lives, and it grieves us when an empty seat goes unfilled simply because of financial constraints. If you’re unsure whether CCA is financially within reach for your family, we encourage you to explore the resources available.

Families may have access to two sources of financial support:
CCA Tuition Assistance

Need-based assistance provided by Covenant Christian Academy to qualifying families.

Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)

A state-funded program that provides eligible Texas families with funds they can use toward approved educational expenses, including tuition at participating private schools.

CCA provides need-based Tuition Assistance to qualifying families with students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade.

What to Expect

  • Need-based awards. We determine assistance using an independent assessment of your family’s ability to pay. A demonstrated need is required.
  • Typical award range. Families may qualify for up to 50% of tuition. CCA Tuition Assistance applies to tuition only and cannot be used toward the New Family Fee, which is the responsibility of the family.
  • Privacy you can count on. Your application information is confidential and reviewed by a small, designated committee.
  • Annual application. Families must reapply each year.
  • Clear communication. We’ll let you know what information we need and when we need it.

2027-2028 Key Dates

Priority Consideration

Current families: Complete the full FACTS application by December 15, 2026

New families: Complete the full FACTS application by January 20, 2027

You may still apply after these dates; however, we review late applications as funds remain available.

Important for families applying for TEFA: Complete your FACTS application by CCA’s priority deadline even if you are still waiting for your TEFA determination. CCA will wait to process and communicate your Tuition Assistance award until your family’s TEFA funding status is known.

New families: CCA will not process or communicate a Tuition Assistance award until the student has been admitted to CCA.

Who Can Apply

Families with students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to apply for CCA Tuition Assistance.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

  1. Apply online through FACTS Grant & Aid. FACTS charges a $45 application fee. Be careful to choose the correct school year.
  2. Upload all required financial documentation. FACTS will not consider applications complete until it receives all required documents.
  3. Respond to any requests for additional information. After reviewing the FACTS report, CCA will contact you if it needs additional documents or clarification.
  4. Complete any other applicable processes. New families should complete the CCA admissions process at the same time. Families seeking TEFA funding should also complete the state’s TEFA application when available.
  5. CCA will communicate your Tuition Assistance decision once you complete all applicable requirements. New students must first be admitted to CCA. Families applying for TEFA must also have received their TEFA funding determination.

Frequently Asked Questions

We continue to review applications as long as funds are available. Late applications are considered, but awards may be lower, and processing may take longer.

Covenant believes a well-funded, need-based Tuition Assistance program increases the number of qualified candidates available to our community and, as a result, strengthens our school. For this reason, CCA purposefully sets aside a portion of our budget every year for Tuition Assistance.

CCA also has many generous donors who give to the Christian Leaders’ Scholarship Endowment fund. The CLSE provides scholarship funding for qualified families and helps release budgeted funds for strategic community needs.

No. Submitting an application for assistance is not a factor considered in admissions criteria.

Awards vary by family circumstance. CCA Tuition Assistance is typically limited to no more than 50% of tuition.

CCA Tuition Assistance applies to tuition only and cannot be used toward the New Family Fee, which is the responsibility of the family.

Yes. Families must reapply for CCA Tuition Assistance each year because financial circumstances change and CCA reallocates funds annually.

TEFA has its own renewal and participation requirements established by the State of Texas.

Tuition Assistance awards are based on financial need as determined by FACTS, following a confidential analysis of household income, assets, and qualified expenses reported on the FACTS Grant & Aid application.

The CCA Tuition Assistance Committee reviews FACTS’ assessment of need and determines awards based on the family’s financial circumstances, FACTS’ recommendation, applicable TEFA funding, and available CCA Tuition Assistance funds.

The committee views certain lifestyle and financial decisions as within a family’s discretion and therefore not primary factors in assessing financial need.

No. CCA Tuition Assistance has no set income cutoff. We evaluate each application individually, considering the full picture of the family’s financial situation.

Yes. We are blessed with a diverse community united by shared values, not income level. Tuition Assistance is an important part of CCA’s commitment to making a Covenant education accessible to qualified, mission-aligned families.

Timing will depend on whether your family is applying for TEFA and, for new families, the status of your CCA admissions process.

New families must be admitted to CCA before we communicate a Tuition Assistance award.

Families applying for TEFA must receive their TEFA funding determination before CCA will process and communicate a Tuition Assistance award.

Families should still complete FACTS by the applicable priority deadline and, for new families, continue through admissions concurrently rather than waiting for a TEFA decision.

You can meet with Joy Hale to review your application details and ensure we haven’t missed any important information about your current financial situation.

No. CCA is committed to protecting your privacy and treats your Tuition Assistance application and information as confidential. A small committee determines Tuition Assistance awards, and no one outside the committee and the business office knows which families apply.

To help maintain this discretion, we ask families to keep their Tuition Assistance information, including award amounts, confidential.

We’re Here to Help You Take the Next Step.
