Portrait of a Graduate

Every student at Covenant Christian Academy is uniquely created by God and entrusted with gifts, abilities, and a God-given purpose. For this reason, no single description can fully capture the richness of a Covenant graduate.

Even so, Covenant’s mission, curriculum, and culture are intentionally designed to cultivate the affections, habits, and competencies that prepare students to flourish. In covenantal partnership with parents, we seek to form students whose lives increasingly reflect the following Portrait of a Graduate outcomes:

Authentic Followers of Jesus Christ

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39 (ESV)

  • Covenant graduates love the Lord. Grounded in Scripture and shaped by a biblical worldview, they pursue a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Covenant graduates pursue rightly ordered loves. Anchored in Christ and formed by truth, goodness, and beauty, they faithfully participate in the life of their local churches and seek to glorify God in all they think, say, and do.

Wise and Virtuous Lifelong Learners

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 (ESV)

  • Covenant graduates cultivate wisdom and humility. Motivated by a love of learning and a reverence for God, they think critically and embrace lifelong intellectual and spiritual growth.
  • Covenant graduates pursue excellence. Through academics, the fine arts, athletics, and meaningful life experiences, they develop fortitude and resilience as virtuous stewards of their God-given abilities.

Servant hearted Leaders

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 (ESV)

  • Covenant graduates serve others. Having experienced the transforming love of Christ, they joyfully and sacrificially serve others, locally and globally, seeing all people as image-bearers.
  • Covenant graduates lead with purpose. They faithfully steward their God-given gifts to make disciples, strengthen their families, churches, and communities, and advance God’s Kingdom wherever He calls them.

Compelling Communicators of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8 (ESV)

  • Covenant graduates communicate eloquently. Through logic and rhetoric, they become thoughtful communicators who listen carefully, speak truthfully, and respond with humility and conviction.
  • Covenant graduates value truth, goodness, and beauty as reflections of God’s order. Grounded in a biblical worldview, they wisely discern what is true, turn away from what is false, and courageously influence their communities for Christ.
