Although I hail from Wisconsin and Michigan, I took delight in Texas’ warm weather and friendly people when my husband and I moved here in 2010 with our two kids. I have a secondary education degree from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. I have taught everything from math to English to art. My husband graduated from CCA in 1997, so it was like coming full circle when I started teaching 7th and 8th-grade algebra here in 2016. Both of my kids currently attend CCA, so our closets are awash in cougar spirit wear, some of it bordering on “vintage.”
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher
Why do you choose to work at CCA? CCA teachers frame their lessons through a Christian worldview – while students’ brains are gaining knowledge, their hearts are developing character. I love that our teachers challenge our students but also meet them where they’re at with loving grace. It’s a great community with supportive parents.
What is one fun fact about you? I once ate a giant Brazilian cockroach. I was two years old and living in the jungle in Panama.
What is your favorite book of all time? Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse – It’s beautifully raw in its free-verse storytelling. There’s a compelling grit to the characters, setting, and storyline that feels authentic and honest.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? I really enjoy a seriously clever and snarky joke (preferably delivered to me at the same time I’m enjoying a ridiculously overpriced salted caramel macchiato).
What do you like to do for fun? I love nerdy, introverted things like crosswords and logic puzzles. When I am old and have more time in life, I plan on filling my days with painting, reading novels, and thrift store shopping.

I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma where there were more cows than people. After high school I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to play college football and baseball at Lindenwood University, near St Louis, where I worked on getting a degree in Education. I ended up finishing my degree at USAO, in Chickasha Oklahoma, and moved to Texas expecting to start my career coaching and teaching in the DFW area. God had other plans and I started my Law Enforcement career working for the City of Lewisville where I spent time on Patrol, SWAT, SRO, Gangs, Narcotics, Street Crimes, CID, and Mental Health. After 20 years in law enforcement I decided to retire and find a place where I could spend more time with my two little girls, Eleanor and Oaklyn. I just started here at CCA in 2025 and I’m excited to be here.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a professional baseball player or a marine biologist. I love baseball, animals, and the ocean. Scuba diving and studying creatures in the ocean sounded fascinating to me as a small town kid in Oklahoma nowhere near a beach/ocean.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I have always enjoyed working with kids and then being able to do it at a place that puts God first is a dream come true. This place has a small town feel in the middle of the big metroplex.
What is one fun fact about you? I got shot at my last job! That’s fun right? HA!
What is your favorite book of all time? American Sniper. I’ve met Chris several times when I was on the SWAT team, and being a former sniper myself, hearing his real life story was very impactful on me.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Hearing my little girls laugh.
What do you like to do for fun? I love to golf, fish, hike in the mountains, and go to the beach

I was born and raised in Colleyville and attended CCA from Kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating from Baylor with a degree in Psychology and Business I returned back to DFW and completed my Master’s at Dallas Theological Seminary. I worked at a counseling center in Grapevine for 7 years and decided to jump into the education world when my oldest son was entering Kindergarten. I worked at a private school in Dallas before landing back home at CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to own a cupcake bakery!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA to help preteens and teens gain a better understanding of all the things happening in and around them and to be at a place where I know my children will get a great education centered on the Lord.
What is one fun fact about you? I met my husband at CCA and my Mother-in-law was my History/English teacher.
What is your favorite book of all time? I don’t think I have a favorite of all time. I read a lot of books so there are a handful that stand out in different seasons. One that I have read in the last few years that I think about often is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. I’m also in the middle of The Anxious Generation right now which I can already tell will be top of my list.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Iced Coffee!
What do you like to do for fun? I love watching my boys play soccer!

I have such a precious heritage here at Covenant! I am the eldest daughter of CCA founders Dale and Anne Smith. I attended and graduated from CCA in 1992 as a member of the first graduating class. My three siblings and three sons also graduated from CCA. I have two nieces and one nephew currently attending; our family is blessed and proud to be multi-generational Cougars. I have been married to my husband Ben (an engineer at Lockheed Martin) for nearly 27 years. I received my BA from the College of Saint Thomas More (humanities) in 1998 and a Master’s Degree in Library Science (with school library certification) from the University of North Texas in 2009. This is my 9th year as librarian here at CCA, and it is truly my dream job! I love instilling in my students a love for books and reading and helping equip them with the information-seeking and processing skills required to be successful and discerning readers and learners.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A ballerina!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I am blessed and privileged to partner with believing parents in their children’s Christ-centered education and Christian nurture.
What is one fun fact about you? I am something of an Anglophile and adore all things British! Come talk with me in British accents! 😉
What is your favorite book of all time? Pride and Prejudice by Jane AustenI received a volume of Jane Austen novels as a high school graduation gift from our beloved Dr. C (then Mr. Culberson!). I read Austen’s novels for the first time as a college freshman and have loved them (and all the film adaptations!) ever since.

I have taught Math for 14 years in grades 6-9 in public schools, teaching in Keller ISD and Southlake Carroll ISD. I have been married to my husband, Jeff, for 18 years, and we have two children, Callie and Camden. Teaching is my passion! I love the interactions we have when discussing math. I like to make math fun!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a mother and teacher. God has blessed me by making both of my childhood dreams come true! It is my daily joy not only to teach math but to share my passion for the love of learning.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I chose to work at CCA because I believe in connecting everything we learn to the creator of everything! Learning is easier when we can see the connections between the subject areas and how they relate. The opportunity to teach in a school where everything relates back to God, the ultimate creator, was literally my dream job! It is a blessing to teach in a place where we can openly praise our creator, our Teacher.
What is one fun fact about you? I was in the show choir in high school. I continued singing in college and was on the praise and worship team during my time at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene, Tx.
What is your favorite book of all time? My favorite books are anything written by Jodi Picoult. I enjoy her writing style.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Seeing my kids “get’ the topics I am teaching and hearing them discuss with understanding is a delight! I love to see them “understand” and appreciate the material.
What do you like to do for fun? I am a mom to 2 competitive soccer-playing kiddos. Soccer is all we do! We travel and play all over the country. I love to watch my kids do what they love! I also love to try new foods and new restaurants. It’s fun to find new places!

I grew up in East Texas in the Rose Capitol of the World, Tyler. Strangely enough, my name, Myrandi, is actually the name of a rose, the Mirandy rose. After high school, I moved to the big city to attend Dallas Baptist University on an Art Scholarship. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree (not in Art, by the way, but in Christian Education), married the love of my life, and taught kindergarten while completing my Master’s degree from DBU. Victor and I have two beautiful daughters, Brynlee (24) and Maycee (21), who both graduated from CCA, love Jesus, and seek to serve Him daily in their jobs and lives. As of October 2024, I have the most wonderful grandson, Lawson. My dear husband went to live with the Lord in November 2021 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. The journey God has me on today was definitely not what I was expecting, but there is joy and blessing in trusting His plan and walking in faith.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? An artist and a teacher
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I felt called to Christian Education. After interviewing for an open position, I was immediately drawn to the philosophy/mission and like-minded community.
What is one fun fact about you? I have never had a cup of coffee. I took one sip and realized very quickly that I didn’t like the taste, and the smell gives me a headache.
What is your favorite book of all time? Besides the Bible? When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin.The story is powerful, speaks to my soul, and reminds me that God can redeem any situation, circumstance, or person.

I grew up in Odessa with my mom. I am an only child. My town was the focus of the movie Friday Night Lights (true story about Permian Panthers football team). I love football for that reason. I went to Texas Tech University where I obtained my Bachelor of Administration with a focus on Management. I moved to DFW and eventually worked for a company as a Regional Business Development Manager for over 10 years. I have 2 children who attend CCA, and our family loves this school! As I drive to the school every morning to drop off the kids, I have to pinch myself that now I am here every day and get to be a part of making this wonderful school a success.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A lawyer
Why do you choose to work at CCA? When my daughter started in PK3 (11 years ago), I fell in love with the school and hoped one day that my work experiences would somehow fit within the CCA administration.
What is one fun fact about you? I collect Foam Fingers that you get from any sporting events.
What is your favorite book of all time? Walt Disney The Triumph of the American Imagination. Walt was such an amazing and innovative man of his time and his imagination was beyond anything ever seen. Plus, I have loved Mickey Mouse since I was a little girl!

I was born and raised in Texas. I earned my AAS from Tarrant County College after spending many years lost. I worked at a large retailer for 16 years. The last 10 were in the Hearing Aid Department. In 2016, I began my walk with Christ and my path was more clear. I got to marry the man God made for me; and when we were blessed with the birth of our daughter, I quit my job to stay home with her. I went back into the workforce as a Christian preschool teacher. While I was teaching at another school, my daughter started at CCA, and I was quickly drawn to serve here. Now I get to work here!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love the community at CCA. I’ve seen and heard CCA families pray for each other and I see God move here.
What is one fun fact about you? I was in the Peter Pan musical in high school and got to perform at Bass Performance Hall.
What is your favorite book of all time? I like The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer because being in a hurry hinders our ability to be loving, and this book exposes sin and teaches us how to be more like Jesus.

I grew up in Irving, TX and then received my Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Tulsa. After graduation, I taught elementary music in Irving for 10 years. Though I don’t play much anymore, I played the French horn from 6th grade-college, and continued playing with local orchestras and churches until my daughter was born. My daughter is now entering 2nd grade and my son will be joining me at CCA in PK3. After taking a break from teaching to raise my kids, I am excited to be returning to the classroom!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A librarian.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? The people here make you feel like part of the family from the moment you meet them. I have never felt so instantly like I was “home”.
What is one fun fact about you?I used to teach music at the same elementary school I attended as a child.
What is your favorite book of all time? And why?I enjoy a good mystery like Agatha Christie, and lately I have been reading some Nancy Drew with my daughter. I also like to revisit The Purpose Driven Life from time to time to keep me centered.

I grew up in Syracuse, NY. I moved to Texas when I was 12. I went to Marcus High school and Northwood University, where I played baseball. I was drafted in my Junior year of college by the Arizona Diamondbacks. I played with the Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers organization. I met my wife in Canada while playing baseball. We have three children Noah, Hannah, and Matthew. I coached in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for five years before coming to Covenant Christian.

I taught at Hewitt Elementary in Midway ISD for two years while my husband opened a restaurant in Waco. I also taught three years of Early Childhood and Special Education classes at Heritage Elementary in GCISD. I have lived in the Colleyville area for 29+ years. I have four boys. Three of my sons are CCA alumni, Class of 2017, 2019, and 2022.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A graceful ballerina and a beautifully voiced singer; also a lawyer…but I’m glad I didn’t go down that path…they must bore each other to death!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I wanted truth and life spoken into and over my children, and now I enjoy doing that for the students I teach.
What is one fun fact about you? I did my student teaching in London, I’ve met a lot of famous celebrities and athletes, and I used to coach basketball.
What is your favorite book of all time? Twelve Mighty Orphans by Jim Dent – I love writing with bits of historical basis, and I love seeing it come to life! Plus I just love the grit.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2006. I taught Kindergarten in Oklahoma, Pre-K and 1st grade in Washington state, and both 4th grade and 1st grade in Virginia. After taking a break to be a stay-at-home mom, I returned to teaching as a reading tutor and then a 3rd grade teacher in GCISD. I now get to use my extensive experience teaching students in all elementary grades as a CASP teacher here at CCA! My husband, Taylor, and I have been married for 18 years. We have two daughters at CCA, one in 4th grade and one in 6th grade. Covenant has quickly become near and dear to my heart, and I am honored to work alongside this team of gifted teachers who love the Lord!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher! I thought my 3rd grade teacher was the best teacher in the world, and I made up my mind then and there that I was going to be a teacher too.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I get to be the hands and feet of Jesus, alongside a strong community of students, families, teachers, administration, and staff who are doing the same. What drew me to CCA from the beginning is the commitment to teaching the whole child, not just the mind, but our kids’ hearts and souls. I get to be a part of training them to love God and love learning. I am thrilled to be here!
What is one fun fact about you? I have lived in 3 countries outside the US and 5 states within the US. When I was in elementary school, I lived in Athens, Greece!
What is your favorite book of all time? Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. I love Silverstein’s quirky sense of humor. I first heard one of his poems as a kid, and I was hooked. I also love them as a teacher because they bring laughter to kids of all ages!

Before moving to Texas in 2013, I called many places home – from New York to Ireland, Florida to California, and places in between. I earned my undergraduate degree in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University, and my MBA from Rollins College. After years in the business world, followed by years as a stay-at-home mom, God opened the door for me to join the CCA Elementary School office in 2018. I’m a proud mom to a current CCA student (class of 2027) and a 2022 CCA graduate, and a loyal CCA soccer fan! (Go Cougars!)

Why do you choose to work at CCA? I believe in CCA’s mission, and love the people! It’s a privilege to be a part of this community.
What is one fun fact about you? My happy place is Hilton Head Island, SC. My family has been going there every summer since my kids were little.

I’m a native Texan with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, Texas. During the 2002-2003 CCA school year I taught 9th grade Biology and 10th grade Anatomy & Physiology. (This was during the early years of my clinic and before starting a family!) In 2023, after 24 years in Colleyville, I sold my clinic and retired from chiropractic practice. My husband of 30 years, Keith, was also part of the CCA community as a teacher and administrator for 20 years. We have two boys, a current 10th grader and a 2024 CCA graduate. Both boys have been CCA cougars since Pre-K3.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A veterinarian
Why do you choose to work at CCA? It’s a Christian community with exceptional academics, athletics and fine arts. There is honestly no place else we would rather be.
What is one fun fact about you? I love to nerd out on organizing!

The DFW area has always been home to me. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science Pre-Law from Howard Payne University and my Master of Science in Child Development from Texas Woman’s University. I spent several years working as a Certified Child Life Specialist at a local Children’s Hospital before transitioning to teaching in 2015. I have taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, most recently in Hurst Euless Bedford ISD.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was 3, I wanted to be a garbage woman.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love the partnership between family, school, and church to help students grow in every area of their lives.
What is one fun fact about you? I love to travel both domestically and internationally!
What is your favorite book of all time? The Diary of Anne Frank. I like being able to get a glimpse into Anne’s thoughts and experiences from that time period of history as well as seeing her courage and resilience expressed throughout the book.

I grew up in Rockford, IL, and my grandmother was my first-grade science teacher. She fostered a love of learning, creation, and science in my heart. I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2023 and worked as a scientist for a biotechnology company. In early 2025, I felt the Lord moving my heart towards education and teaching science and helping raise the next generation of biologists, engineers, chemists, and scientists to explore the handiwork of God!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian or a professional horseback rider as a child. I also wanted to be a tattoo artist!
Why do you choose to work at CCA?I chose to work here because of the family-focused, classical education that CCA has to offer. I believe that students at CCA are being set up for success in their spiritual, academic, and social lives in a way which glorifies the Lord.
What is one fun fact about you? My favorite animal is the Madagascar hissing cockroach!

I am a Texas girl, born and raised. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Kinesiology and Child Development from the University of Texas at Arlington. My certification is All-Level Physical Education. I enjoy being in the gym and helping students be active. Before coming to CCA, I taught PE in Keller ISD for nine years and then stayed home for a few years to be with my kids. I have an tenth-grade son and a sixth-grade daughter at CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A pilot, maybe even a fighter pilot
Why do you choose to work at CCA? Teaching at CCA has been one of my biggest blessings. I love being able to teach with a Christian worldview and to be able to speak the truth about who God is and what He says about us.
What is one fun fact about you? A few years ago, we sold our house, bought an RV, and traveled to 49 of the 50 states. It took us over six months, but we had a blast. We saw so many amazing places and ate a lot of delicious food! Once we returned to Texas, we bought a house and sold the RV. It was an incredible experience, and we would love to do it again in the US or a different country!
What is your favorite book of all time? Everybody, Always by Bob Goff – It’s an encouraging book about how life is messy. Of course, we are all a little messy, but loving people is something we are called to and helps us become who God has called us to be.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? An encouraging word from someone and maybe chocolate.

From there, I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre at Oral Roberts University in 2021. Since graduating, I’ve continued my dance training, taught masterclasses on acting and singing, and directed several musicals for children and teens at Theatre Tulsa and CCA. I received a bachelor’s degree in two-dimensional design from Abilene Christian University in 2005. I started teaching art at Covenant Christian Academy in 2006. My greatest passion is helping students develop their style and find their “artistic voice.” My husband Chris and I have been married for 17 years and have two sons that attend CCA. We live on 5 acres and enjoy taking care of our small garden and farm animals, including horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, dogs, cats, and even donkeys. Originally from Amarillo, I’ve called DFW home for the past 18 years. With 26 years of experience teaching choral music and 23 years in Christian education, music has always been my passion and calling.After high school, I was fortunate to receive a full scholarship to study vocal performance at Arizona State University. My journey eventually brought me back to Texas, where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Opera from West Texas A&M University. I have taught K-12 music, middle and high school choir, and band. For 15 years, I had the privilege of serving as the Director of Fine Arts and Choral Music at Fort Worth Christian School. I have been happily married to my husband, Lyle, for 35 years. We have four grown children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, four delightful grandchildren, and three beloved dogs. Above all, I am grateful for the opportunity to share the beauty of music with my students and to celebrate the wonders of God’s creation through this universal language.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always loved music class and singing when I was a child. It was my passion then, and it has continued throughout my life. I wanted to sing, and it led me to an amazing career.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I have always believed that Christian education was the best choice for our own children, and I wanted to be a part of a classical Christian environment. Covenant Christian Academy is an excellent example of all that a classical Christian school has to offer and more!
What is one fun fact about you? My Dad named me after both of his sisters because he couldn’t choose just one. So, I essentially have two first names. Mary Lou and Helen. My aunts were honored, and I have always felt very loved.
What is your favorite book of all time? I love Mitch Albom’s Have a little Faith. It is a fantastic reminder of the goodness of God and the power of Faith in the lives of His believers.

Afterward, I attended Hardin Simmons University to earn my BS in Public Relations and Advertising, and began my career in Hangzhou, China. I moved back to DFW and had the opportunity to work in marketing, video production, and project management. I currently have two of my own kiddos at Covenant, and I enjoy seeing them begin their learning journey at CCA.

I am originally from Monterrey, Mexico, but I moved to Texas when I was 5. Several years later, the Lord called my family back to Monterrey to plant a church. I felt called to ministry and teaching, so I studied at Christ for the Nations right after I finished high school. I earned my Bachelor’s in Educational Sciences from Universidad Valle Continental. I also had the opportunity to earn my Master’s in Education from Framingham University. God opened doors for me to work as a teacher in Mexico for nine years before moving back to Texas with my husband and kids. After working as a children’s minister for four years, God called me back into the classroom to teach Spanish. This has been the perfect job since it involves my passion for ministering to the next generation and the opportunity to teach Hispanic culture and language.

What is your favorite book of all time? Extravagant Worship by Darlene Zschech – Worship is the best way I communicate with God. I read this book in my teen years, and it has impacted my worship.

I grew up in a small town in south Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education (Early Childhood Education) from Valdosta State University and my Master of Arts in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Phoenix. I began my teaching career in Georgia, where I met my husband, who was stationed at Kings Bay, GA. He was from Texas, and as soon as he got out of the Navy, we made our journey to Texas for several years as he went to Texas A&M. I quickly fell in love with TX but definitely missed Georgia. So we moved back to Georgia for a few years and then back to Texas, where we have lived ever since. I have taught for 19 years in grades PreK – 5th grades. I’ve taught in public, private, and online through Georgia Cyber Academy and Texas Virtual Academy. Teaching is my calling, and I find great joy that I have taught in many different locations and grades.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was in 2nd grade, my teacher, Mrs. DeMott, told me, “Leanna, I think you would make a great teacher because you already have a teacher’s handwriting.” That stuck with me, and from that moment on, I knew I wanted to become a teacher just like Mrs. DeMott.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I chose to work at CCA when my family was looking for a school for my then kindergarten son. We toured several schools, and when I heard that CCA was looking for a PreK teacher, I knew this was where God wanted our family. We instantly fell in love with the school, and my kids have both thrived here.
What is one fun fact about you? As soon as you hear me talk, you will know I’m not from Texas. I get asked often, “where are you from?” As the saying goes, “you can take the girl out of Georgia, but you can’t take Georgia out of the girl.”
What is your favorite book of all time? I don’t know if I can choose just one book, but my favorite author is Karen Kingsbury. Her books pull me right in, and once I start one, I find it hard to put it down. I own almost every single one of her books and love to reread them every so often.

Previously, I was a global Outreach Pastor at Northwood Church. I also served as a global consultant for “Vision 360” and a Vietnamese Ministry consultant for Buckner International. My bachelor’s and post-graduate degrees are from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. My wife and I have three children, and we live in Keller, TX. I did not pursue a career in education but instead went into recruiting/business management and engineering in the national defense industry (Lockheed Martin). My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We have two children who attend CCA (Addyson and Cade). I started working at CCA in April 2022, and I absolutely love my job! I am blessed to be a part of such an amazing team.

Why do you choose to work at CCA? I volunteered a lot and loved being involved at school – so much so that I decided to apply for a permanent position. Best decision ever! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to serve our CCA families and students.
What is one fun fact about you? I did both school and competitive cheer in JH and HS. In HS, I competed in the National Best Cheerleader competition and placed 8th in Nation. I went on to pursue cheerleading at Baylor University, but that season ended very quickly due to a serious knee injury.

I met my husband, Darrell, at Tech, and we just celebrated our 27th anniversary. We have been blessed with two amazing daughters. Our oldest, Emily, is married to Zach, and our youngest, Mackenzie, is a Senior at Baylor University. I have taught for 28 years, with 27 of those in Kindergarten.

I have taught choir, private voice, and private piano. I have worked as a church pianist and handbell director and as a university accompanist. My resume also includes a few years as a technology specialist. I’ve worked from home, in public schools, in private schools, and at a Baptist University. I retired from public school teaching in 2023, and have been at CCA since then, directing the choirs in grade 5 through high school. My husband, Joe, is in full-time ministry, and we have been married for 27 years. We have one son, Jake, who serves our country in the US Army and is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McCord, just outside of Seattle, Washington.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a child, I thought I wanted to be either a doctor or a lawyer. I remember vividly, though, the moment I was practicing for my next piano lesson when I was in 2nd grade I very clearly heard the Lord speak to me. I really wanted to quit playing the piano. I didn’t want to practice anymore. I was preparing myself to go talk to my parents about quitting when I heard the Lord say, “One day, you are going to need this.” Thankfully, I listened!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I have always been as open about my faith as possible with my students, but teaching in public school for my whole career meant I had to wait for the students to ask me about my faith. I enjoy getting to speak freely with students without hindrance.
What is one fun fact about you? I started playing the piano over 50 years ago!
What is your favorite book of all time? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It is a retelling of the story of Gomer and Hosea. It is a beautiful retelling of God’s unconditional, redemptive, and all-consuming love.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? I love seeing someone’s face light up with just the right words of blessing.
What do you like to do for fun? Much of what I do for work is also what I do for fun: singing and playing the piano. I also enjoy reading, cooking, playing card games, and taking our son’s dog, Bella, to the dog park.

I grew up primarily in Scottsdale, Arizona, though I lived in six different states throughout my childhood. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a minor in History from Dallas Baptist University. While completing my degree, I worked full-time as an admissions counselor, where I began to sense a calling toward coaching. In June 2025, I joined Covenant Christian Academy as an assistant football coach and also began substitute teaching to discern whether the Lord was calling me to the classroom as well. Through prayer and experience, it became clear that God was leading me to both coach and teach, and by His providence, He opened the door for me to serve at CCA as a PE teacher.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was growing up, I wanted to play football in the NFL, and then after I was done playing football, I wanted to coach football and be just like my dad.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I chose to work at CCA because of how I could see the Lord moving at this school and wanted to be a part of what Christ is doing here at CCA.
What is one fun fact about you? I played college football at the University of Hawaii and was actually coached by Coach Phillips.

Soon after, I started my career at Texas Health Fort Worth, where I have worked in Oncology/Hematology for nearly 20 years. I went on to earn my Master of Public Health from Liberty University and most recently worked as a part-time school nurse at Dallas Baptist University. I pursued other passions outside of nursing, including attending the Culinary School of Fort Worth. In my spare time, I serve with my husband directing a Sunday school class of 50 people at our church, Cross City. I also serve on the medical team at church and the medical committee for the Mid-Cities Women’s Clinic. My husband and I have three children – all of whom attend CCA.

I’m a born and raised Texan! I grew up in a large family of 6 kids (2nd oldest). Born in a loving christian home, Christ was at the center of everything we did (including Mission Trips to Mexico). I met my husband of almost 20 years when we were in High School. We have 3 children ages 13,10,7. Before I became a mom I worked as a director of a daycare. After that, I was as an assistant children’s pastor, and then worked at a local non-profit, “6 Stones,” before finally deciding to stay at home with my children. Working at CCA is not just a job for me, it’s a ministry. I love being around all the children, but I love even more being with the teachers and looking for ways to bless them. Teachers at CCA are incredible, and I want to come along side them and help them continue to thrive in all they do! I have known Jesus as my Lord and Savior since August of ’89. Christ is very important to me in so many different ways! I look to Him for a lot of wisdom, discernment, and grace especially when it comes to parenting. Our weekends are filled with watching our children play their sports and spending time with family. My favorite movie is The Sandlot.

I am a Fort Worth native and have lived in the north Texas area my entire life. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Habilitation of the Deaf (or Deaf Education) from Texas Christian University. I have always enjoyed working with and teaching children with learning differences. I taught for 8+ years in special education in the public school system before becoming a mom to two sons. When my boys began attending Mother’s Day out programs, I also started teaching at the various MDO programs. I taught the Pre-K 3 classes for nine years. In 2018, I worked as an art assistant/part-time art teacher. In August 2020, I became the Director of the Covenant Academic Support Program. I am grateful for this opportunity and love working with our students and their families.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A veterinarian or an architect (I NEVER thought I would be a teacher)
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA because I can do what I enjoy while sharing my faith with my students, their parents, and my coworkers.
What is one fun fact about you? I was a Child Life Specialist Volunteer at Cook Children’s Hospital. I got to play games, read, watch movies, make and eat special snacks, make crafts, and, most importantly, be a friend to children as they were fighting cancer. I did whatever the child wanted to do. It was a sweet time mingled with lots of difficult realities. I loved my experience.
What is your favorite book of all time? Thank you, Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco – It is based on the true life experience of the author, and I relate to this book as a student and teacher. It inspires my passion for helping others overcome challenges.

I earned a Bachelor of Business from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Dallas Baptist University. I love how the Lord has used my business and ministry training in my job over the years at CCA. I am passionate about family ministry, and I am so thankful my current position at CCA includes equipping and caring for families.

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, I moved to Greensboro, NC in 2016 to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. There, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2020) and my Master of Science in Athletic Training (2022). From there, my career in athletic training began with the Chicago White Sox, where I worked with their minor league affiliate in Winston-Salem, fulfilling my dream of working in professional baseball. During the following off-season, God led me to take a position working with the student-athletes at Eastern Guilford High School where He helped me grow as an AT and as a Christian who cares for student-athletes both physically and spiritually.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? It was a constant back and forth between baseball player or race car driver.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I played sports for and graduated from a private Christian school similar to CCA. Since then, God has put it on my heart to work at a school where students are able to receive a Biblical education, participate in competitive athletics, and be surrounded by staff who love God and seek to do His will.
What is one fun fact about you? I used to be a competitive bowler and competed at multiple national tournaments while in high school.
What is your favorite book of all time? Any Star Wars book I read when I was younger. Before the time of the smart phone, my parents would take me to the local used bookstore where I would spend a great deal of time picking out Star Wars related books to read in the car that satisfied my interest in the Star Wars universe beyond what is seen in the movies.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Comfort food or a hot peppermint mocha latte, regardless of the season or the weather outside.
What do you like to do for fun? I am a big baseball, hockey, and racing fan so I enjoy watching those events or competing in a fantasy baseball league with my friends (we play for a championship belt). I also like to stay active by training for and participating in triathlon which allows me to travel, see new things, and eat food.

I grew up between San Diego and Utah, but I consider Utah home. In 2021, I moved to Dallas after meeting my now-fiancée in Park City, and I have been here ever since. I earned my degree in Social Sciences from the University of North Texas, with a focus in Education, History, and Anthropology. Before beginning teaching, I worked at the University of Utah for ARUP Laboratories, where I held roles in training and client services. I am excited to bring my background and experiences into my teaching to help students learn, grow, and succeed.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a kid, I wanted to be a world traveler. I always wanted to explore new places around the world and show people what I found!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I chose to work at CCA because it felt like the right place to grow both professionally and spiritually. I love that it’s a school grounded in Christian values, and I was drawn to the strong sense of community and purpose here. Teaching is something I truly believe I’m called to do, and I’m passionate about helping students grow not just academically, but also in their walk with Christ.
What is one fun fact about you? One fun fact about me is that I spent four months backpacking through Southeast Asia!

Teaching wasn’t originally on my radar, but the Lord quite literally dropped this blessing in my lap, and He has been faithfully equipping me ever since. I began teaching in 2022 and have experience in both kindergarten and second grade. This is my first year at Covenant Christian Academy, and I am overjoyed to be part of a community that centers Christ in both education and character formation. I believe learning is most impactful when it’s rooted in the One who created it, and it is a privilege to partner with families in the academic and spiritual growth of their children. I live in the DFW area with my husband, Isaac, and one of our greatest joys is leading worship together at our church. I’m a self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast who enjoys the occasional Gilmore Girls rerun and a spirited conversation about the spiritual confusion shaping today’s culture—reminding me just how vital this work is: to lay a foundation of biblical truth in the hearts and minds of the next generation, that they might reject the sins of Babylon and seek first the Kingdom of God.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid, I dreamed of becoming an eye doctor—mostly because I was fascinated by irises—and also thought I might find fame on America’s Got Talent. Clearly, I had range!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? For a long time, I prayed, not knowing that God was calling me into education, that He would surround me with Christ-centered individuals who live to honor and serve Him. At CCA, that prayer is answered. What draws me here is a community committed to God-glorifying excellence, humble faith, and hearts surrendered to the Lordship of Christ Jesus.
What is one fun fact about you? I was born on the 7th day of the month, weighing 7lbs and 7oz at 7 am!
What is your favorite book of all time? And why? Well, of course, the Bible, God’s Holy Word! Aside from that, my current favorite (may be subject to change) is The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. It’s a powerful and convincing investigation into the truth of the Gospel.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? A hot bubble bath and an episode of Gilmore Girls, a heartfelt hug from my husband, and time spent in prayer.

My sweet husband, Tim, and I have been married for 27 years, and we have two sons, Koby (24) and Will (20). I was a Stay-At-Home mom for many years with our boys and went back to work about 12 years ago. In the last 12 years, I have taught all ages from toddlers – to 4-year-olds, including STEM classes for 3 and 4-year-olds. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? As a child, I always wanted to be a teacher and to be surrounded by books. I adored my school library in elementary school. It was the most magical place, and I spent all the time I could there.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love teaching at CCA because I love the classical school model and principles. I also love infusing every lesson with the gospel and the love of Jesus. My children attend CCA, and my husband and I feel so fortunate that they are the recipients of such a beautiful education.
What is one fun fact about you? I love baking bread and pies!
What is your favorite book of all time? It is too difficult to choose just one! I love Little Women because of the wisdom of Marmee and the sisters’ love. I could read it every year for the rest of my life and learn something new each time. A few others I love are Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables, Joan Didion’s The Year of Magical Thinking, Adorning the Dark by Andrew Peterson, and short stories by Flannery O’Connor.

I’ve lived in so many interesting places (Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Canada), but beyond a shadow of a doubt, Texas has been my home the longest. I have an English BA from Baylor, a Christian Ed MA from Dallas Theological, and I’m Texas-certified to teach English to grades 6-12 — accomplishments I’m proud of and for which I’m grateful. At the time, though, I just was chasing my interests; little did I know that I was going to wind up loving being a teacher in both of those subjects. I’ve been a Christian educator for 20+ years, now. The best part of all of it, however, has been that it led my husband, Jim, and I to enroll our kids into CCA, and led me to teach here. As a result, I’ve had the privilege to teach many awesome students, including my two sons (Ben ’19 and Sam ’21) and my daughter (Grace ’25).
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A semi-truck driver or a lion.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I started out at CCA because I wanted to continue educating my children in the Classical format. Twelve years later, I choose to work at CCA because I love the community and the opportunity to be a part of such a fabulous school.
What is one fun fact about you? I’ve written and published a middle grade fantasy novel (“Bree Albina and the Changeling Alliance”) about a girl who is finds out she is an elf — think “Lord of the Ring”, not Santa’s helpers.
What is your favorite book of all time? This is hard. Fiction — probably a tie between “Pride and Prejudice” and “Jane Eyre.” Works I’ve taught: “Last Days of Socrates” and “The Consolation of Philosophy.” Non-fiction — definitely anything by Dallas Willard, but in particular “The Divine Conspiracy” has been the most transformative to my life with God.

I was born and raised in Whitehouse, a small town outside of Tyler; my parents still live there and have been married for 53 years. I moved to the DFW area in the mid-’90s to finish my degree at UNT in Denton; I graduated from UNT in August of 1998 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. I worked in the car business for 12 years, starting in sales and ending in the finance office as the Director of Finance. In 2008 I left the car business to work at a University Model School in Denton, where I was the Business Administrator for 13 years. I married my husband, Chris, in 2008, and we have one daughter, Emily, who is a competitive gymnast. We reside in Colleyville with our Labrador Murray and a pocket black kitty.

Why do you choose to work at CCA? Before CCA, I was driving 80 miles to work round trip, and after 13 years, it started to wear me out, making me bitter and tired. I was struggling to balance my family and work life. I prayed for a change, and God opened the door at CCA- I had previously worked with Dr. Jeffrey at another school and learned so much from his leadership. Being at CCA allows me to work and grow with like-minded Christian colleagues, it helps balance my family life, and I now drive in a week what I was driving in a day. Working here allows me to grow in my relationship with Christ both on the professional and personal side.
What is one fun fact about you? I’ve purposely ran three marathons- one of which was the New York City Marathon.
What is your favorite book of all time? Oh goodness- just one? The Circle Maker: Praying Circles by Mark Batterson -This book shows the wonderful power of prayer. Lemons on Friday is another good one- this covers the various levels of grief and that it is ok to experience any grief. I love history-type books for learning and memoirs for great mind escapes.

Immediately after graduation, I worked for a year as the Education Coordinator at a local Major League Baseball museum in Arlington, Texas, before I began teaching third grade in Fort Worth. I taught in an underprivileged district for six years, and I considered loving those kids my mission. After marrying my wonderful husband, Dustin, I was blessed to stay at home with my two babies for six years before God brought our family to CCA. I love working here, where my children go to school!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I either wanted to be a fashion designer or a teacher.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I believe the classical philosophy of teaching is the best way for students to learn. I also love empowering students with a Christian worldview so they can share their belief and love for Jesus with the world as they grow.
What is one fun fact about you? I love to travel, especially to the beach, on a cruise, or to Disney World.

As a child, I stumbled upon the Children’s Illustrated Classic version at the used bookstore across the street from our house. I grew up about a mile away from CCA! I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from North Texas University. I have worked in HEB ISD as a classroom teacher and, later, as a Math Interventionist. I joined the CCA Faculty in 2016. I am married to my junior high sweetheart and am the parent of two CCA graduates, classes of 2017 and 2019. Both kids started here in preschool!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always wanted to become a Veterinarian and started my education at Texas A&M. A summer internship at a local vet clinic taught me that my tear ducts couldn’t handle that line of work! Shortly after, I started volunteering in the Ft Worth ISD and found my love of being in a classroom!

I grew up in the Chicagoland area, but I came to Texas as soon as I could. My aunt and uncle graciously offered for me to live with them in Southlake so I could attend college. I started out at North Lake College and transferred to Dallas Christian College, where I met my wife and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Worship Arts/Music Ministry. My wife and I are the proud parents of three energetic kids, two girls and a boy. I have been privileged to teach middle school math, among many other subjects, for the past nine years at StoneGate Christian Academy in Irving.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Believe it or not, I wanted to be a professional musician when I grew up.

I grew up in Newport Beach, California, but the Lord brought me to Texas when He placed Baylor University on my heart. There I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and student taught in Waco ISD. In 2019 I graduated and decided Texas was my home. I moved to Grapevine after being hired by CCA. In 2020 I married my husband, a fellow Baylor Bear, and started my 2nd teaching year at CCA. I have taught Pre-K4, 2nd grade, and now 4th-grade math at Covenant. I have been at Covenant since 2019 and could not imagine a more wonderful place to teach than CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian, be on Broadway, or be a teacher!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? From the moment I walked through CCA’s doors, I felt at peace. I love classical education, and I always knew that I wanted to teach at a school where I could help my students grow in their faith as well as help them become lifelong learners.
What is one fun fact about you? I can play piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, and sing! I applied to colleges as a musical theater major originally.
What is your favorite book of all time? Little Women is my favorite book because it was the book my mother, grandmother, and I would read each winter. It made me fall in love with reading, and it gave me a special memory with the two most influential women in my life.

I graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and later completed my post-baccalaureate teaching certification in secondary Science. My work experience includes management, event parking, and scheduling. I also worked as a medical scribe in emergency medicine and orthopedics for 3 years. I received degrees in Music Education and Music Theory and was the Drum Major of the UNT Green Brigade (marching band) for several years. I taught as a band director in the Arlington ISD for five years before moving into IT and, eventually, the testing office. I am a trained healing-prayer facilitator and also maintain a home-based video production business recording public school music events, including theater productions and band, choir, and orchestra concerts. I grew up mostly in El Paso, Texas but spent my final few years of high school in Athens, Georgia. Of course, I came back to Texas as soon as I could. I received my bachelors degree in Education from Texas A&M University and soon after completed my masters degree in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University. After spending nearly 10 years in public education teaching in Richardson, I was considered leaving teaching for good. However, I stumbled across classical education while searching for ministry opportunities and quickly realized that this way of teaching was everything I was looking for in education but did not know actually existed. I spent the next five years teaching 6th grade at Providence Christian School of Dallas before I had my first child. It has been a privilege to be home with my three young children the last few years, and I eagerly anticipate being back in the teaching role at CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I always thought I would be a veterinarian or an actress.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I chose to work at CCA because the Lord impressed upon my heart last spring that His desire was for me to return to the classroom, and I believe the classical education model is aligned with how God created us to learn. The community and the staff at CCA clearly has so much love and appreciation for the families they partner with and this attracted me work at CCA. It is a gift for me to be a part of this community and for my children to be a part of this community as well.
What is one fun fact about you? My brother and I had a pet pigeon when we were younger, and we taught it how to fly.
What is your favorite book of all time? And why? I love a lot of books. I have always had a love for non-fiction books especially. A few years ago, I read The Only Plane in the Sky which is an oral history of 9/11, and while the subject matter is very sad, I found the historical perspective to be very insightful and rich.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? A walk outside, a hug, or a deep conversation with someone.
What do you like to do for fun? I love to walk in my neighborhood, spend time with my kids and husband, and watch a good movie or show.

I returned back to school and completed my teacher certification. I have worked only in Christian education. Most of my teaching years were in Granbury, Texas, before returning to my alma mater.

Why do you choose to work at CCA? For several reasons: I love what I gained from my education at CCA; I love the growth and development of the school; I want my daughter to be a CCA alumni; I love being able to teach and lead in an environment that is centered around Christ with others who want the same for our next generations.
What is one fun fact about you? I recently placed 36 out of 1006 competitors in the Bank of America Stair Climb for Leukemia and 8th out of all women.
What is your favorite book of all time? Charlotte’s Webb by E.B. White – I had a wonderful teacher who read this aloud to our class daily after lunch. She read with such feeling and brought the book to life. I looked forward to this time each day, and it left a long-lasting impact.

I was born and raised in Grapevine, TX, and educated in the public school system from K-12. When praying for the future, God directed me to prepare for missions, so I went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and took their single undergraduate degree. I graduated in the summer of 2022 with my B.A. in Humanities and Biblical Studies. While finishing college, I began “teaching” or leading in the after-school program at CCA, where God impressed upon me the great responsibility of guarding and nurturing the hearts and minds of his children. Full-time teaching at CCA answered many prayers, especially for a challenge, teaching/coaching position, and discipleship opportunities.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? In Preschool, I was quoted saying I wanted to be a “Daddy and a boat rider” when I grew up. So far, I’m one for two and eagerly awaiting the Lord’s hand to make it two for two.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? At CCA, we are united by Christ around a Christ-centered, God-glorifying education. Isn’t it beautiful to see God’s chosen people united in truth and love? Alongside that unity, I have been connected to staff, students, and families through my childhood local church, so I have been invested in what happens here for some time.Lastly, I love classical education, which I summarize as the great books and the Good Book.
What is one fun fact about you? I once cut off half the wings of a dragonfly with a playing card while the dragonfly was in motion. I thought I had missed, but some 3rd grade boys found the wings and the dragonfly to prove it.
What is your favorite book of all time? Can I answer anything but God’s Word? If I didn’t have it, all other books would become worthless. Ecclesiastes is my favorite book in the Bible.If that is too cliché, I’ll take Perelandra from the Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis.

My name is Travis Niemeyer, and I’ve been the Middle School principal at Covenant Christian Academy since 2022. I believe deeply in the power of faith and purpose, a conviction shaped by my upbringing in Garland, Texas, where my Christian parents modeled a life of faith. After earning my Marketing degree from the University of North Texas and working in technology sales, a profound sense of calling led me to a career in education. I began teaching 5th-grade American History and Language Arts at Timberline Elementary in 2003. Later, I moved to Northwest ISD where I spent time teaching 7th-grade Texas History at Chisolm Trail Middle School and 5th-grade at Granger Elementary. In 2013, I stepped into an Assistant Principal role at Colleyville Middle School. My journey in education, including meeting my wife Michelle through a shared teaching role, truly reflects my belief in God’s guiding hand. Michelle and I are proud parents of three boys, two of whom have attended CCA since PK-3. Away from school, I love to read and spend quality time outdoors with my family.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? The first baseman for the Yankees
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love the community of CCA. Michelle and I have been CCA parents for nine years and still have friends that began when Asher was in Pre-K 3. We have grown as parents with these friends and met many others over the years. I have told people before that one of the reasons I’m so excited about coming to CCA is that I can build a much deeper relationship with the kids and their families.
What is one fun fact about you? I am an award-winning gardener. I won two awards for my tomatoes years ago from Calloway’s Nursery (the fact that I was the only entry is purely inconsequential).
What is your favorite book of all time? As someone who loves books and reading, this is an impossible question but also one I can’t resist. Books are a passion for me. I love reading them, discussing them, and quoting them. So picking one favorite book is like picking your favorite child. In 5th grade, my teacher read Where the Red Fern Grows each day before lunch, and I loved it. However, like many boys, I was too busy and active in middle school to spend much time reading. However, Huck Finn was the book that ignited my love for reading. Wild at Heart was read at a time when I needed to be challenged not to play it safe but to make bold steps of faith. The Book Whisperer and In the Middle transformed how I taught. And The Divine Conspiracy and Celebration of Discipline challenged me to go deeper in my faith.

I grew up in rural (at the time) Southlake where my family had land and cattle. My mom and I always planted a garden in the spring and it was such a memorable part of my childhood. My favorite part was growing sunflowers taller than me. After getting married and moving all around the world, we always found a way to grow a garden…even in the desert! I believe it is one of the best ways to tangibly connect to God’s creation and love for us. Gardening shows He always provides.

I attended the University of North Texas, receiving my B.S. Degree in Merchandising with a Business Minor. I worked in software asset management for an IT company managing a 10 million dollar annual software budget for ten years. My husband and I decided it was in the best interest of our family for me to stay home with our three young children as the 55+ hour weeks I worked were hard on us all. During that time, I started teaching Pre-K3 part-time for the next ten years and loved it! I knew I had found my calling in teaching children and perused my teaching certification in EC-6th grade. My children are all now young adults doing great things in their professions, and I am doing what I love, teaching our littlest cougars at CCA.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A child psychologist
Why do you choose to work at CCA? Because it is an awesome Christian school where I can teach from a Biblical perspective. The seeds planted in my students’ hearts have an eternal impact on who they become and truly bless me.
What is one fun fact about you? I love socks! If I was stranded on a deserted island, the one thing I would need is my socks!
What is your favorite book of all time? The Bible is my favorite book. I read it daily, transforming my mind one day at a time to be more like Jesus.

I grew up moving around the oil fields of West Texas and New Mexico. I started 1st grade when I was five years old because my brother is 11 months younger than me, and my parents didn’t want others to think we were twins. My family finally settled in Odessa when I was a preteen. I graduated from Permian High School in 1974. Go MOJO! I attended Odessa College, Southwest Texas State(as it was known then), and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. I graduated from UTPB in 1980 and had my first daughter three months later. I have two grown daughters and six grandchildren living in the Metroplex. Praise God! Even as a young child, God put it in my heart to be a teacher. That has never wavered. I began my teaching career in Odessa in 1981 and retired in 2009. All 28 of those years were spent at the same elementary school. I immediately began to substitute that same year and did that until I re-entered the classroom full-time in 2012 at my neighborhood school. Again, I re-retired in 2016 to move to be near my children and grandchildren. That began my ‘kingdom’ teaching in another Christian school and, eventually, at CCA.

I grew up in a small town outside of Waco called China Spring. I earned a BS in Secondary Education with a specialization in English from Baylor University in 2001. My first teaching job was at Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill, TX. After marrying my husband, I took a job at McKamy Middle School in Flower Mound to be closer to our new home in Grapevine. Upon the birth of our first child, Ava, I chose to take a position at Grapevine High School. I taught there for four years until I moved to CCA to teach 7/8 English. Both of my children started school here as well. We have been a part of the CCA family since 2013!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Originally, I wanted to be like Jane Fosse and study the gorillas in Africa. However, when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I wanted to be a foreign missionary. I finally realized that teaching was a mission field in and of itself, so I decided to become a teacher.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? Working at CCA was a God thing. I loved my job at GHS and was not looking to move. However, my dear friend Myrandi Ballesteros asked if I would be interested in interviewing; the rest is history. Being here has enabled me to be on the same campus with my children, which has been such a joy. God also knew that I would need the love and support of such an amazing community as we entered into major trials in our life.
What is one fun fact about you? I had brain surgery when I was 22 years old. It is a long story for another day if you are interested.
What is your favorite book of all time? That is a hard question…but generally, my favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I pick it up every few years and re-read it because it is such a rich story.

I’m an eighth-generation Texan and am proud of it! I’ve spent my whole life in the DFW area, aside from my time at Oklahoma State — GO POKES! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications in 2016 and hurried back to my people in Texas as soon as I could. Before coming to Covenant, I worked for Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco as their Communication Specialist and Creative Media Coordinator as well as their Head JV and Assistant Varsity Volleyball coach. God then called me to a new area of ministry with The Champion Group, where I was their Creative Brand Specialist. After working remotely for two years, God put in on my heart to be back in the school setting where I could mix my passions for Marketing and Discipleship in one place. My husband and I moved to Fort Worth after getting married in July of 2022 and welcomed our first child in 2023. We are so grateful to be a part of the CCA community, especially as a young family!

We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we’d no longer feel inadequate. It taught me how to cultivate the courage, compassion, and connection to wake up in the morning and think, no matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.

My daughter graduated from CCA in 2012 and is now a successful attorney living in Oklahoma with her husband and their daughter, my beautiful granddaughter! I worked as a licensed social worker for a foster and adoption agency. After that, I worked in an elementary school in the HEB school district, where I was the school social worker. I worked there from 2013 to 2017. I resigned from social work after I had my first son James in 2017, and I stayed at home with him until 2019. In 2019 I started work at The Hills Preschool and taught the 2’s class from 2019 to 2022. My two sons, James and Jaxon, attend CCA. I enjoy my time here and hope to teach at CCA for many years to come.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? As a child, I knew I wanted to work in sports. I envisioned myself in sports marketing, as a sports agent, or in some capacity within the sports industry.

I was born in Fort Worth and have remained in the metroplex my entire life. I went to college at the University of Texas in Arlington, where I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts in History and my Master’s Degree in Teaching, with a specialization in reading. Before starting a family, I taught Kindergarten and First Grade in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Once my children were old enough to attend CCA, we joined the school, where I love teaching First Grade! It is also an honor to serve as the English/Language Arts Specialist for our Early Childhood and Elementary students.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I have always wanted to be a mom and a teacher. I’m living my dream!
Why do you choose to work at CCA? My niece and nephew attended CCA from Kindergarten-Graduation. I had the incredible joy of watching them grow into young adults who love the Lord, can think around corners, speak eloquently, and walk confidently. My husband and I want the same thing for our children, so we are thrilled to be a part of this incredible community. I love working at CCA because our staff is like a family. We truly love one another, support one another, and sharpen one another.
What is one fun fact about you? I never really cared much about football, but I married a great guy from Wisconsin and love the Green Bay Packers! Go Pack Go!
What is your favorite book of all time? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my all-time favorite book! My First Grade teacher read it to my class, and I LOVED it! That was my first happy memory with reading. My goal is to share that love of reading with my students.

I was born and raised as a public school kid in Houston, TX, and moved to Katy, TX for middle and high school. I attended the University of North Texas because of its excellent art school and knew I wanted to be a teacher because my mom was a teacher. I loved art, so art education was the perfect fit. I graduated with a BFA in 2002 and married a month later to my college sweetheart, Jon. It will be 20 years in January! Jon’s parents, Dale and Anne Smith, founded CCA back in 1978, and he graduated from here with a class of only 10! CCA is such a blessing from God and the reason I providentially met my husband, Jon. My best friend, who came to my public high school in 9th grade, was one of Jon’s classmates from Covenant, and she introduced us in college. I got my first teaching job at Midway Park Elementary in H.E.B. ISD and taught for three years but left teaching when I got pregnant. I had the privilege of staying home for seven years with my girls and would paint in my spare time. I am so grateful to be working at this amazing, classical Christian school alongside my girls, Jetta, a Senior, and Elena, a Freshman. This January will be my 11th year at Covenant.

I have lived most of my life in Keller but attended Mississippi State to get my Bachelor’s in Physical Education. I taught math and coached in Mississippi for two years before moving back to Texas. I have taught for twenty-two years, primarily teaching high school math in the Keller and Northwest ISDs. In 2018, I earned my Master’s Degree in Christian Apologetics at Talbot Theological Seminary (Biola University). I have four children: Abby (20), Bella (19), Lilly (17) and Jack (15). I am excited about the opportunity to teach at CCA. I can already tell that this is a special place.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a baseball or football player
Why do you choose to work at CCA? The primary reason that I choose to work at CCA is that I want the opportunity to share my faith with students. It is inspiring to work at CCA because of its strong commitment to Christian faith/practice and academic excellence.
What is one fun fact about you? I was once bitten on the nose by a turtle … yes it hurts
What is your favorite book of all time? Besides the Bible, my favorite spiritual book is Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Martyn Lloyd Jones. This book shows the believer how the Christian life is meant to be lived. My favorite fiction book is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. It’s just a great story.

I grew up in Wichita Falls and began playing the violin in 5th grade. I went on to attend Abilene Christian University where I earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree. I moved to Fort Worth when I began teaching elementary music and strings at Fort Worth Christian School. I was at FWC for most of the next 36 years, along with Fort Worth ISD and Irving ISD. I stepped away from teaching in 2022 but am back with renewed energy and enthusiasm and so excited to be at Covenant! I have been married to Scott Snyder for 29 years and we have one daughter who is 26 and is a nurse in Port Huron, Michigan.

I am a country girl at heart who has lived in Texas my entire life. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education and Psychology from the Dallas Baptist University. I have been in education for 25 years. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 36 years. We have two children and three precious grandchildren.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a little girl, I thought that I would be a nurse working with babies.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? Funny story! When I first started teaching, I taught at a school that was also CCA with orange, blue, and white as the school colors. And though I chose to teach at CCA because I believe that Christian education is my calling, and CCA is exactly where the Lord wants me to be, I also see His humor is this “full circle” He has provided.
What is one fun fact about you? I love photography, and rarely can be seen without a camera in my hands. I spend most of my weekends at the sports fields as a sports photographer.
What is your favorite book of all time? And why? I love Alice and Wonderland. I think it connects with my need for adventure. I am also a very visual person, and the visual creativity in this novel plays like a full color movie in my head while reading it.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? My family! They are my everything. There is a running joke in my family that they never know what to get me for a present, because I always say I want “time.”
What do you like to do for fun? I love anything outdoors especially hiking. I also love reading. Set me outside on a beautiful day with a good book, and I am happy.

Well, Pino Lella is a forgotten hero–not one that you study in the history books. However, he represents the many average people that were needed to win this war. Pino Lella shows that empathy, love for others, and kindness still survived amidst tyranny and oppression. Read it!

I grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, where my family still resides. I received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Education and met my wife, Becca, at LSU. I taught and coached at a private Christian school in Baton Rouge for eight years before we moved to Covenant in 2002. I’ve had the privilege of teaching, coaching, and working in administration at CCA for 20 years. Three of our sons have graduated from Covenant, and our fourth is a freshman. Our boys and family continue to be blessed by CCA’s incredible education and community.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Probably a professional football or basketball player
Why do you choose to work at CCA? We felt God calling our family to move here 20 years ago to take a position at Covenant. The love and hospitality of the CCA community has sustained us since.
What is one fun fact about you? My high school basketball and baseball teams won state championships during my senior year.
What is your favorite book of all time? Killer Angels because it’s an extremely entertaining piece of historical fiction detailing individual heroism, courage, and faith during some of the darkest days of American history.

After I had my first child, I stayed home and at God’s direction I began homeschooling our four kids when my oldest was in 2nd grade. I was born in Louisiana but grew up primarily in Edmond, Oklahoma. I earned a BS in Biological Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 1995. I married my husband, Lance, in 1998, and we moved to Texas in 1999. In the span of about nine years, God blessed us with five amazing children. I loved being a stay-at-home mom and teaching part-time at a local preschool in Grapevine! My three oldest children first started school at CCA in 2004, and we loved our CCA family! Then in 2010, God led our family on a homeschooling adventure where I treasured every moment of teaching and learning with all five of my children. Finally, in God’s perfect timing, He led us back to CCA in 2019 so that our youngest two children could experience the joys of being a CCA Cougar.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a child, I thought it would be so much fun to be a dolphin trainer at SeaWorld or a marine biologist.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? There are many reasons that I love working at CCA, but the top one is probably that I really love working and being near my children while they are at school.
What is one fun fact about you? I love everything about horses and one day hope to own another horse. Nothing makes me happier than caring for and riding horses. Trail rides are my favorite!
What is your favorite book of all time? The Insanity of God by Nik Ripken – I read it before my daughter went to Jordan as a missionary intern in the summer. I need to go back and reread it. It follows the journey of an American missionary and his family in the middle and far east. It was eye-opening, heart-wrenching, and inspiring all at the same time.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Going out to eat for dinner! Or, when someone cleans the kitchen without being asked!
What do you like to do for fun? I love being outside when the weather is nice. I love shopping for plants, digging in the dirt, and learning about gardening and landscaping. I love spending time with my husband and children at football and soccer games. I love to go out and eat Mexican food. I love the mountains, and I think I would love the beach too! (I haven’t been since my children were very little, which wasn’t super relaxing, but now that they are grown, I think that would be a lot of fun!)

I grew up in Fort Worth, Beaumont, and San Antonio. I’ve lived in Midland, TX, Baton Rouge, LA, Monroe, LA, and the Netherlands. I’ve been back in the Fort Worth area for 35 years. I became a serious junior tennis player at 11 years old and played 350 days a year for ten years. My father was my coach, and I credit this experience for learning most of life’s lessons. I went to Midland Jr. College and graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with an Elementary Education Degree. After college, I became a teaching tennis pro and learned to “teach” from my father and a very wise tennis professional who was my mentor in Baton Rouge. I graduated from UNT with a Masters in counseling and went to TWU for my administration certificate. After teaching tennis, I entered the classroom 36 years ago and love it to this day. I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade, along with being a school counselor for four years and an elementary principal for 14 years. My family includes my dog, four children, seven grandkids, and the greatest nephew and niece. My friends and students are like family to me.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A tennis coach and an elementary teacher
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I love CCA because it has high expectations for faculty and students. Jesus is the focus of all things. The atmosphere is friendly, supportive, and fun. Parents are our partners.
What is one fun fact about you? I lived in the Netherlands for four years and was able to go to language school and travel.
What is your favorite book of all time? In third grade, the Boxcar Children was the first book I did not want to end! It made me fall in love with reading. Then, as an adult, the Bible.

I was born in Massachusetts, but my family got to Texas as fast as they could! I graduated from Fort Worth Christian and then went on to earn a BFA from Baylor University in 2001. I have previously taught in Northwest ISD and Birdville ISD. I have classroom experience in teaching Art, Kindergarten, and First Grade. My husband and I have 2 children here at CCA. Our son is Class of 2024, and our daughter Class of 2028.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A veterinarian
Why do you choose to work at CCA? As a product of Christian education, I always had the desire to one day make a move from public school to private school. I also desired that for my own children. I had a lot to learn about Classical Education when I got here, but it continues to inspire me to be a lifelong learner and a better teacher. Above all, the most important work is the opportunity I have to teach from a biblical worldview and reach the whole child, down to what is in their heart.
What is one fun fact about you? On a family trip to London, we saw the Queen of England and the Royal family.
What is your favorite book of all time? Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers – It is truly a one-of-a-kind story that tells just how unconditional God’s love is.
