Your teen’s next four years are critical as they develop socially, spiritually, and academically before stepping into college or a career. As a parent, you want them to be known and mentored by their teachers and coaches as they prepare for their future.
When you consider the type of environment where your teen will thrive, what comes to mind? You might be looking for a Christian school that is unique because it’s counter-cultural and Christ-centered. Your teen might be interested in exploring their growing talents in fine arts or as a part of a championship athletic team.
As a private Christian high school in Colleyville, Texas, Covenant Christian Academy, you don’t have to choose between a biblical curriculum that aligns with your family’s values and exciting extracurriculars because we offer all of these things.
Why High Schoolers Thrive at Covenant
Spiritual Formation
Like many other families, you know your teen will be leaving home in just a few years — whether that’s to step into college, a career, or another calling. When they do, you want them to be prepared to think biblically and act in a way that honors God. We do too, which is why we are dedicated to educating your teen with a biblical worldview while equipping them with a love of learning, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.
CCA is a Christian private high school where parents partner with passionate faculty and staff to model an inspiring faith in a Christian community. In addition to Bible class and integration of biblical teaching throughout all subjects, weekly chapel services teach biblical truths and the character of Christ in an applicable way so students can go deeper in their faith. By the time your teen graduates, we want them ready for college and prepared to influence the culture around them.

Classical Education and College Preparation
At the high school level, a classical education means your teen will progress through a liberal arts and sciences curriculum infused with scripture and Western tradition. Our college-prep curriculum helps students gain a rich and solid foundation for their future. The classical, college-prep curriculum and small class sizes allow teachers to truly know each of their student’s unique gifts and interests.
As a CCA student, your teen will be surrounded by like-minded, motivated peers who enroll in AP/Dual Credit courses. Your teen will also have access to career, personality, and interest testing as they learn more about their unique, God-given talents and consider how they might use them in life. Our full-time, dedicated college guidance counselor will meet with them as early as 8th grade to help them plan for college and beyond. We want your teen to be well-rounded, have an unparalleled education, and graduate as critical thinkers.
Inspiring Atmosphere and Athletics
At CCA, we encourage our students to have an unmatched and well-rounded work ethic resulting in a willingness to run towards a challenge rather than away from it. Character and heart are woven into our culture. A commitment to excellence in school work, athletics, fine arts, and care for each other is why CCA feels like an extension of students’ own families. Students work together within their assigned “house” to earn maximum points resulting in rewards. A house system rewards and reinforces positive behavior.
Whether your teen feels most comfortable on the field, the court, or on the stage, we offer numerous extracurriculars, including, 15 sports teams with 35 State Championships.

What CCA College Guidance Looks Like For Your Teen
Freshman Year
As a freshman, PSAT and PACT practice begin, along with personal assessments. Our college guidance counselor will take first-year students to a local private college and provide them with direction on questions to ask during campus tours, information to look for, and characteristics to evaluate. Additionally, you, as the parent, will attend a “Jump Start to College” meeting.

Sophomore Year
Sophomores will take the PSAT and PACT, as well as a career assessment test. Your teen will have the opportunity to become more comfortable with college tours as they visit a local public college. A “Jump Start to College” meeting will be held with you and your teen.
Junior Year
Juniors will have the opportunity to attend college fairs, meet with college representatives, and join an optional college essay writing workshop. Our college guidance counselor will take juniors on a two-day visit to private and public colleges. We also offer individual meetings with juniors and their parents. PSAT/NMSQT, the SAT or ACT, and an inventory assessment are some tests juniors take.

Senior Year
Seniors will attend college application workshops, meet with college representatives, attend college fairs, and complete college applications with assistance as needed from the college guidance counselor.

“I am humbled and honored to serve our Covenant community. My passion for classical Christian education and for seeing students mature and flourish grounds this calling in wisdom and virtue. C.S. Lewis once said, “The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts.” I find this especially poignant as we seek to meet the needs of our CCA students. As image bearers of Christ, our students are not in need of mere information or behavior modification, but of truth, virtue, wisdom, and discipleship that cultivates both the mind and the heart. Through a Christ-centered classical education, we have the privilege of guiding students toward intellectual excellence, spiritual maturity, and a lifelong love of what is good, true, and beautiful.”
