It's that time of year again.  Back to School excitement is in the air. It's time to think about school supplies, uniforms, and schedules.  Don't forget to think about that summer reading assignment!  The administrators and teachers have been busily preparing for the school year.  They are excited for students to return to campus for first day of school. 

Here are a few reasons for parents and students to get excited for Back to School: 

1. Friends

Seeing friends every day is a great reason to be excited for back to school. Not only is it fun to see friends after summer break, but healthy friendships contribute to the development of positive social skills, and even have a positive impact on school performance. Friends are a beautiful part of a school community.

2. Teachers

Teachers are awesome!!! They inspire a love of learning by making learning fun. They sacrificially love our children... even when they are not so lovable. They encourage, inspire, coach, and mentor students in the classroom and parents on the sidelines. We love teachers and can't wait for school to start so we can see them more!

3. School Supplies

There is something deeply satisfying about getting organized with school supplies at the beginning of the year. New spiral notebooks and planners are like a clean slate for a new year full of possibilities.

4. Routine. Routine. Routine.

Our children may not be too excited about the return of reasonable bedtimes and school routines, but routines make life predictable. Routines help children feel secure. Because children know what to expect, anxiety levels often go down. Think about what daily ritual routines you want to implement this year.

5. Uniforms

Uniforms just make school life easier. Shopping for them is easy. Getting dressed in the morning is easy. No more arguing about what to wear. I love school uniforms!! Along with making life easier, uniforms teach children to take pride in their appearance and are a unifying force for the student body.

6. There is always something to do.

Parents no longer have to hear the endless "I'm bored" comments. The start of school brings sports, plays, programs, socials, concerts, and much more. Parents can step down from navigating all the summer fun, and as a bonus most of these school activities are way cheaper than Disneyland.

7. Office Staff

CCA has the greatest office staff on the planet. If you need help with just about anything, you can call our office staff. They are always friendly, always willing to help. They often step in as second moms nurturing and looking after our kids.  It takes a village to raise our kids and we are so thankful they are part of our village.  

It's such an exciting time of year. We cannot wait for our parking lots and hallways to be bustling with students.  Happy Back to School!!!
