Reasons to Get Excited for the New School Year

Written by Joy Hale | Aug 2, 2021 2:48:42 PM

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Back-to-School time!

The transition from summer to school is one of my favorite times of the year. Every last moment of the summer gets a little bit sweeter. I treasure every splash in the pool and every unscheduled lazy day with my family. Slowly but surely, my thoughts began to turn to the new school year. Excitement builds as back-to-school tasks start to occupy my thoughts and my calendar.

Back-to-school time shines with hope, adventure, and anticipation for all to come. Here are a few reasons to get excited for Back to School!

Gratitude for Last Year and Hope for the New Year!

Last school year was like no other. In the midst of many challenges, our CCA family didn’t just survive; we thrived. And like any other family, we did it together.

Hope abounds as we approach the new school year. We believe our CCA family will continue to thrive as we seek to educate students with excellence while loving the Lord with all our hearts, souls, and minds.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

New Everything!

New teachers. New families. New students. New friends. New starts. New worship. New academic adventures. New musicals. New games. New art creations. New uniforms and school supplies. New kindergartners and a new senior class.

Our God is a God of new beginnings. God knew we would wander from our callings and get tired, so He made us with the need for new beginnings. The sensation of newness covers every part of the Back to School season. Back to school feels a little bit like sliding into a new pair of tennis shoes for the first time-bouncy and fresh. It feels awesome!

Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? Isaiah 43:19 (The Message)

The Happiness of Face to Face Community!

There is nothing like the joy of embracing new and old friends on campus after a summer break. Paul repeatedly writes in the New Testament about the longing to see his people face to face. Similarly, John writes in his letters about his joy being complete when he can see believers face to face. There is a richness involved in taking a Sabbath rest from relationships for the summer. When we return to see each other face to face, it is a delightful experience.

It's such an exciting time of year. We cannot wait for our hallways to be bustling with students. We are joyfully waiting for your return.

 Happy Back to School!!!
