When my second daughter started school, I began taking college classes at the community college. I received my BA from Dallas Baptist University and my Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematical Sciences from UT Dallas. I have enjoyed teaching math for many years in public schools and Dallas and Tarrant community colleges. I recently came out of retirement to teach at CCA. It is a privilege to be a part of the CCA family, where I can catch occasional glimpses of my daughter and two grandchildren.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I did not have a career in mind when I was a child, but I was drawn to family and my faith community. I always loved school- all of it, especially math.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? I choose to work at CCA to enjoy the gifted young people and to help them have an excellent educational foundation.
What is one fun fact about you? I once rode with my husband to the motorcycle rally in Sturgis, SD, on a silver and black limited edition 90th anniversary Harley Davidson Electra-Glide. 1800 miles round trip. Loved it! I do not have a tattoo to prove it.
What is your favorite book of all time? The Bible. But I also like the Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder - It is full of history and family relationships. However, I do not like the television series.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Smiles!
What do you like to do for fun? I enjoy puzzles, quilting, and my family and friends.
