My Bachelor's degree came from Hardin-Simmons University, where I studied Elementary Education & Music Education and became certified in Kindergarten and Gifted/Talented Education. During my first years of teaching in public schools, I completed many hours of graduate work toward my Master's in Early Childhood Education at Texas Wesleyan University. My three children are alumni of Covenant Christian Academy and graduated in 2009, 2013, and 2016.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I am grateful to have grown up in a church where I was heavily involved in Backyard Bible Clubs and Mission Trips. Through these experiences, I knew that God had called me to be a teacher.
Why do you choose to work at CCA? It is precious to have the delight of weaving God into every core curriculum area. These are the "eternal" lessons I treasure giving to my young students.
What is one fun fact about you? I love History and especially Geography and have a fun goal to visit every state in the United States.
What is your favorite book of all time? You Are Special by Max Lucado - It's the truth I want my students to grasp and what ministers to my heart every time I read it aloud.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? Little thoughtful expressions of encouragement and kindness
What do you like to do for fun? It's fun being a grandmother for the first time... just call me "Lolli."
