I grew up south of Dallas and have lived in Texas my entire life. Right after my freshman year of college, as an Elementary Education major, God shifted my desire for teaching in a different direction. At a college retreat, I was called to go on my first overseas mission trip to Myanmar and Thailand. After weeks of trekking in the mountains and sharing the Gospel with an unreached people group, I realized God wanted me to use my gifts of communication and relations to teach English as a second language. I continued this endeavor at UNT and majored in Elementary Education, EC-6, with a minor in Linguistic Studies. Since that adventure, I have been on four overseas mission trips around the world. Within a few years, I met and married my husband, Kevin, and God gifted us with our firstborn, Alli, in 2014 and our secondborn, Sadie, in 2016. My husband and I have led several young married groups at our church, Cross City, and have served in many capacities, from worship to children’s ministry. I enjoy spending time with my family, inductive Bible study, and being outdoors in God’s creation. I want to be an author and Bible teacher when I grow up.
