Crissy Barton
I was born and raised in the small town of Fort Madison, Iowa. I earned my Bachelor of Music degree from Howard Payne University and a Master's of Music degree from Kent State University. Before moving to the Fort Worth area, I lived overseas in Singapore. I taught Pre-K through 12th-grade general music, middle school music theory and composition, and high school choir. I also lived in Maryland, where I taught 1st-8th grade general music and beginner and intermediate bands. My husband and I have called Fort Worth home since 2012, and our two children attended Covenant.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a ballerina
Why do you choose to work at CCA? The CCA community is incredible! (I also have THE BEST job ever!)
What is one fun fact about you? My very first jobs were delivering newspapers and playing French horn in the summer city band while in middle school.
What is your favorite book of all time? Anything by Max Lucado - He has a gift of speaking so simply, yet so profoundly. It touches my soul.
What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? A hug from a student!
