In God We Trust

trusting God in uncertain times

In 2012, God led my family to leave our home.

We left Michigan, our home, family, friends, and moved to the very different land of Texas.

We arrived in Houston in August with two toddlers clinging to the promise of one job for me and trusting God to provide employment for my husband. Many people could not understand why we would leave our comfortable life, house, and professions for a  job (making very little money) and a two-bedroom apartment with two small children.

Despite people not understanding, WE TRUSTED GOD. We knew He told us to move. He is Jehovah Jireh. He will not leave us nor forsake us. He will give us food to eat, a roof over our head, and meet all our needs. The move was still difficult. There were many days filled with struggle, but God did a mighty thing. We trusted Him, not understanding what was next.  We moved on His word, and He took care of us.

As we sit in the unknown of this pandemic, God is calling us to put our trust in Him. Easy to say, but much harder to do.   Many of us are facing uncertainty filled with complex challenges and confusion.  Some of you may be experiencing the loss of a loved one, loneliness, financial hardship, or loss of a job. As you navigate through your loss and grief, I want to encourage you. God sees your pain. He is compassionate and will wipe away each one of your tears. He will not forget you. Continue to trust Him despite not knowing what lies ahead. Trust Him while you are standing in your challenging moment. Trust Him with everything knowing that HE IS GOD-your Jehovah Jireh.   My family and I have walked through many times of uncertainty.  Looking back on what God has done in our past helps us trust Him more in the present. God is trustworthy.

Here is my prayer for you.

I declare and decree that every door God has ordained will open. Every door that He has closed will close according to His will. I pray you build trust in Him like never before. I pray God gives you supernatural strength to endure this race, the challenges, and adversities. I pray you are restored and renewed to the next place He is taking you. I pray His mighty hand is upon you, and you seek Him first in all things. I pray you trust Him IN EVERYTHING. I pray your mind is in perfect peace.
In Jesus' Magnificent Name, Amen.

You will keep in perfect peace, those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you. Isaiah 16: 3
