It might surprise you to learn the top job skills Google looks for in job candidates. The most sought-after job skills have nothing to do with technology.
- Being a good coach
- Communicating and listening well
- Possessing insights into others (social awareness)
- Expressing empathy and support toward colleagues
- Thinking critically
- Connecting complex ideas
Interestingly, students who journey through CCA's course of classical education have honed many, if not all, of these coveted job skills. The senior class of 2021 is an exceptional example of these traits. Despite the struggles of loss and a global pandemic, this group of graduates is well-spoken, confident, and prepared for college.
One of CCA's 2021 seniors, Maci, who is headed to Abilene Christian University in the fall to study biology, is an excellent example of what a CCA graduate embodies. Maci recently taught at the Grammar School Chapel sharing the story about David and Goliath.
As Maci demonstrates in this video, CCA graduates know how to speak God's truth. In their time at CCA, they learned how to share their voice with a kingdom-minded perspective. They know how to deliver a message confidently to any age audience from children to adults. Skillful rhetoric is a lost art that will serve these graduates well through college, into the workplace, within the church, and in their own families.
Speech is power: speech is to persuade, to convert, to compel. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Young adults who know how to speak will be leaders. The senior class of 2021 is moving onto university to study engineering, business, public relations, architecture, biology, psychology, nursing, animation, media arts, criminal justice, and biochemistry. Undoubtedly, they will be leaders in each of their fields of study. They will be an influential force wherever they choose to invest their lives.
