The Covenant Crown Award is presented annually by the school’s leadership to a person or persons who best typify a spirit of volunteerism and giving. This year we honor two beloved members of the CCA Community:
Greg and Valerie Scoggins

Greg and Valerie have two sons who are CCA graduates — Drew, class of 2007, and Grant, class of 2010. The Scoggins have been an invaluable part of the CCA community for 18 years. They exhibit hearts of service through their many years of selfless volunteerism and service. Both were instrumental in launching our Football program and helping build our Track & Field program.
Valerie was instrumental in starting our Hot Lunch program and continues as co-coordinator today. She has volunteered countless hours to CCA’s Track & Field program, providing tents, food and water, and has served as the “water girl” for the Football team and coordinated team meals before and after games for many years. Valerie also served on the Athletic Booster Board, as a Team Uniform Consultant, and on the Auction Committee for countless years.
Greg served on the Board of Trustees for eleven years and on various CCA committees including the Athletic Committee and the Athletic/Fine Arts Facilities Committee. He coached Grammar and Junior High basketball teams and Varsity football, and has been invaluable to CCA’s Track & Field program. Greg has been the voice of CCA for many years at basketball games and other school functions.
Greg and Valerie have worked behind the scenes at CCA for so many years that we cannot list all that they have done to promote CCA to the community. They have been some of CCA’s biggest supporters and cheerleaders and we appreciate their hearts of service.
We honor you, Greg and Valerie, for your selfless hearts
of service toward Covenant Christian Academy.
Congratulations to our 2012 Covenant Crown Award recipients!
